ABOUT HURVA
Forged from lived experience.
Hurva emerged from the diverse body of work of it’s founder, David Wegman.
Sitting at the intersection of strategy, systems design and implementation, Hurva is a small, founder-led company for complex work: reading the field, clarifying what matters, shaping practical responses and carrying them through.
We work where land, design, systems, people and purpose overlap.
FOUNDER & PRINCIPAL
David
Wegman
David’s background spans architecture, special operations military service, land management, building, teaching, contemplative practice, leadership, small business, charity establishment and retreat operations.
The breadth, depth and diversity of David’s experience lies at the heart of Hurva’s capability.
- Special Operations
Service with the 1st Commando Regiment informs Hurva’s approach to planning, leadership, teamwork, risk, discipline, elite performance and action under pressure.
- Architecture
A Bachelor of Planning and Design (University of Melbourne) and Master of Architecture (RMIT University) trained David’s eye for space, structure, planning, proportion and design.
- Land, Building & Timber
Years of rural property management, building work and timber-based making ground Hurva’s thinking in physical reality, practical constraints and long-term stewardship.
- Teaching & Contemplative Practice
Yoga, meditation and teaching experience shape Hurva’s understanding of purpose, attention, human development and the conditions that allow meaningful work to happen.
- Small Business, Charity & Retreat Operations
The establishment of Kailash Foundation Ltd and the operation of Kailash Ashram have given David direct experience in governance, logistics, systems, programs, land, buildings and responsibility over time.
Hurva brings these fields together as one integrated capability.
The result is a small, founder-led company able to work across people, place, systems and practical execution, helping clients understand the field, clarify what matters and carry the work through.
OPERATING PRINCIPLES
How Hurva works in the Field
Hurva brings cross-domain experience into a simple way of working: read clearly, act practically, improve the field.
01
Read the whole Field
We look beyond the stated task to understand the land, people, systems, risks, constraints and purpose behind the work.
02
Clarify what matters
We help identify the real objective, the friction points and the sequence of action most likely to move the project forward.
03
Shape the response
The response may be strategic, spatial, operational, physical or human. Hurva works across these layers rather than treating them separately.
04
Carry it through
Advice only matters if it helps the work move. Hurva is built to support implementation, refinement and practical follow-through.
WHAT THIS MEANS
Not one lens.
The whole field.
Hurva does not approach a project from a single professional lens.
A conventional consultant may see strategy.
A designer may see form.
A contractor may see tasks.
A coach may see people.
An operator may see systems, risk and execution.
Hurva looks for the relationship between them.
We ask what is really happening in the field: what is working, what is stuck, what is misaligned, what is creating friction, and what needs to happen next.
From there, we help shape the response.
That may mean a plan, a design, a system, a conversation, a physical intervention, a program structure, a piece of built work, or a practical sequence of action.
The form changes from project to project.
The work remains the same:
Understand the field.
Clarify what matters.
Make the next move useful.
Where are you stuck?
If your project crosses land, design, systems, people and purpose, Hurva may be the right fit.
We will help you understand the field, clarify your objective, identify the next right move and get the work done.
